A BRAZILIAN former pig farmer has been named as the world's oldest man following the death of John Tinniswood this week.

Joao Marinho Neto was yesterday 112 years and 55 days old.

Guinness World Records said in a statement: "He was previously recognized as the oldest living man in Brazil and in Latin America.
