ONE YEAR TOO LONG

LABOUR has called for Rishi Sunak to call a general election as he nears a year as Prime Minister.

Sunak will mark his first year in charge tomorrow, but has trailed Labour in the opinion polls for his entire time in office.

Shadow Scotland Secretary Ian Murray said Sunak had been in charge “a year too long” and called for an immediate general election.

Murray also mocked Sunak for having “lost to Liz Truss and a lettuce” in his bid to become Prime Minister.

The SNP has said that the Tories are on their way out and said Sunak had “crashed the economy and fuelled the cost of living crisis”.

Sunak came to power on October 25, 2022 after Liz Truss’ disastrous seven-week term in office.
