Angus eyes up Euro adventure as Dons stopper chases career-high

ANGUS MacDONALD reckons if Aberdeen can clinch third and European football tonight it’d be the biggest achievement of his career. 

The Dons are two points clear and could seal the deal with a home win against St Mirren and if Rangers beat Hearts.

MacDonald is also aware that finishing best of the rest could also mean European

football until Christmas, if Celtic were to win the Scottish Cup.

The big defender said: “It would be my biggest achievement. Everything I have gone through in life and since I have been a young boy I have always strived to achieve and play at the highest level.

“There’s no bigger stage than European football. It would be massive, a proud moment for the family and me personally. “It has been a tough few

years but you have to take every minute and game as it comes. “If we can do our job on Wednesday, hopefully that secures third place.” MacDonald, 30, knows

Dons can’t take anything for granted against a St Mirren team who are also still in the European hunt.

Stephen Robinson’s men also won at Pittodrie last time out – 3-1 in MacDonald’s debut.

The defender warned: “We are going to need to win the fight first and hopefully we come out on top.”
