INMATES at a troubled private jail have been forced to wear dirty clothes for 10 weeks due to a broken washing machine.
Prisoners in Addiewell are complaining of foul smells around Tay C wing, which houses those on long-term sentences.
It's understood the inmates do their own laundry and have complained for weeks about the faulty machine.
Prisoners' families said they aren't allowed to bring fresh clean clothing in when they visit. One&nbsp;woman said: "My son is wearing his tracksuit top because he's got no clean clothes to wear.
"It's disgusting. He says the hall is smelling because everyone is wearing dirty stuff.
"They can't even wash their underwear. It's an absolute disgrace. They&nbsp;keep being told it's getting fixed but 10 weeks?
"They're all rubbing each other up the wrong way about the smells." Earlier this year the West Lothian prison was criticised by inspectors for serious safety issues.
The Record revealed in May that prisoners said the jail was like a "hotel" in TikTok videos.
It's understood the machine is expected to be repaired this week.
A spokeswoman for Sodexo, which runs the prison, said: "Alternative arrangements are available for prisoners affected.
