Thai cops save expat Martin, 77, after hours clinging to mound of earth as kayak sinks
RESCUED FROM SNAKE RIVER

A PENSIONER stranded for more than six hours in a snake-infested river in Thailand when his inflatable kayak sank has been rescued. 

Martin Grant took the boat out on a stretch of water but was dragged away by the current in Udon Thani province on Sunday.

The 77-year-old’s boat took on water then became stuck in the mud, forcing Martin to cling to a small grassy mound

The retired expat from Aberdeen spent more than six hours fearing for his life before rescue teams dragged him to safety at about 11 pm.
