Restaurant is hit by 2nd firebomb

A PLUSH restaurant favoured by footballers has been targeted in a second "firebombing".

Emergency services were called to the already-damaged Da Luciano's in Bothwell, Lanarkshire, shortly after midnight yesterday as the fire took hold.

Video footage obtained by the Daily Record show flames ripping through the roof as fire crews doused them with water. Thick, black smoke billowed into the air as nearby residents were warned to keep their windows and doors closed.

This is the second time the business has been targeted in a matter of weeks. The Record previously told how emergency crews were called out on July 18 after a fire was started.

A source told the Record: "Last time, they petrol bombed the downstairs but the whole building didn't go up. It was only really smoke damage. But this time, the whole building is destroyed. There's no roof left.

"I saw at least five fire engines there and I spoke to a woman that lives nearby.

"She said she heard a massive explosion and car doors slamming with it screeching off.
