Stinking summer fears rise but talks 'positive'

SDAMAGING bin strikes are days away after a Scottish Government summit broke up yesterday without a deal.

But a source close to the talks said the discussions were “positive” and there was still time to avert industrial action.

Scotland is braced for a “stinking” summer after workers in three unions rejected a 3.2 per cent pay offer from councils.

The biggest, Unison, served notice on a dozen councils they intended to strike between August 14 and August 22.
