SNIPERS patrolled the roof of Coldplay's gig in Vienna after the foiled terrorist attack on Taylor Swift's shows in the city.

There was a huge police presence on Wednesday night for the first concert at the Ernst Happel Stadium since the singer's gigs were scrapped earlier this month.

Austrian police reassured music fans that the armed officers were just a precaution as part of the enhanced safety measures.

They said: "Our job is to comprehensively secure the concert, including the positioning on the roof."

Coldplay performed Taylor's hit Love Story during the show.
