RAIL passengers could face further travel chaos as hundreds of ScotRail workers have been balloted for strike action.
Around 300 employees have been invited to vote for industrial action amid an ongoing dispute over pay. Unite, which represents the workers, warned walkouts could begin as early as September.
The strike ballot opens on July 31 and will close on August 20. The union claims the dispute has been caused by a “failure” from ScotRail to table a fair pay offer to the rail unions.
The current verbal pay offer would see workers receive a two per cent rise backdated from April and then a further one per cent in January 2025.
