SECOND COUNCIL REBELS OVER TAX

THE SNP government's plan for a council tax freeze is in tatters after a second local authority pushed through a rise in the levy.

Inverclyde Council leader Stephen McCabe said an 8.2 per cent increase in bills was needed for services and accused ministers of bullying.

Councils and the government are at loggerheads over Humza Yousaf's call at the SNP conference for a freeze.
