SHARP EXIT

A PAIR of runaway porcupines were found roaming around a housing estate after escaping from their farm home two miles away.

Locals were left baffled after spotting the unusual visitors in Heathhall, Dumfries, on Saturday morning.

Resident Keith Higham was in "utter disbelief" as he snapped a picture of the spiky wanderers exploring gardens in the MacDonald Loaning area.

The alarm was raised with workers at the nearby Dalscone Farm who raced to collect the naughty duo.

It's now been revealed they managed to rip a steel door off their enclosure on Friday night before setting off on their adventure.
