PLANS to announce which new hospitals, surgeries and treatment centres will be built in Scotland have been delayed.

All new NHS building projects were put on hold in February for up to two years because of budget constraints - with a revised plan to be released in the spring.

But now the details will be revealed alongside the 2025/26 Scottish budget, which is in December.

It comes after the Record revealed the health service in Scotland had spent £100million on maintenance in a year.

Last night Scottish Labour health spokesperson Jackie Baillie said: "More delays to vital projects while patients languish on waiting lists. This is the price of SNP incompetence."

SNP Finance Secretary Shona Robison made the announcement in a letter to Holyrood's finance committee.
