A MAJORITY of Scots want a snap Holyrood election following Humza Yousaf becoming First Minister, a poll suggests.

A Redfield & Wilton strategies survey showed 52 per cent of the public want an immediate Scottish Parliament election.

Some 58 per cent of the 1000 people surveyed said they support an election within the next six months.

The poll was carried out between March 31 and April 1.
