SNP government stalls on backing UK XL bully ban

Deputy First Minister Shona Robison faced a call to outlaw the breed during First Minister's Questions yesterday.

The UK Government announced last month that it will become illegal from February in England and Wales to own an XL bully which is not registered.

By the end of this year it will be illegal to breed, sell, advertise, exchange, gift, rehome, abandon or allow XL bully dogs to stray.

They will also need to be kept on a lead and muzzled in public.
