Xiaotong Huang, 28, was given cash by "Mr Big" Wai Ma, who travelled around Scotland handing it to associates to clean.
For nearly two years, Huang paid money into bank accounts, bought "high-value luxury items" and used some it to pay for Stirling University fees.
Tens of thousands of pounds, wine and goods from Gucci, Burberry and Louis Vuitton, were sent to China.
Police watched as Huang received an envelope from Ma in his Mercedes in Stirling in April 2021.
She later claimed the bag contained Chinese dumplings but was seen taking a wad of notes "an inch and a half thick" from it and depositing &pound;3500 in one of her four bank accounts.
Ma described as the main nominal in a "significant" money-laundering racket, was arrested two weeks later but has since absconded.
A jury found Huang guilty of laundering &pound;82,000. None of the luxury goods has been recovered.
Huang was sentenced at Stirling Sheriff Court yesterday.
Solicitor-advocate Calum Weir, defending, said Huang had been "naive, and to some extent exploited".
