PASSENGERS travelling from Glasgow Airport could face summer holiday chaos with strike action looming over claims that staff are "routinely" denied breaks.

Security staff at ICTS Central Search, who process passengers, claim that colleagues are going without breaks after working more than six hours.

Unite the Union, which represents them, said members were suffering fatigue and stress.

And that they will have "no option" but to initiate a strike ballot that would lead to lengthy queues and coincide with the summer holiday rush.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: "Unite has been made aware of an alarming situation at Glasgow Airport which not only impacts on the wellbeing of workers but the security of all passengers.
