SUPER-RICH WEALTH TAX COULD NET £24BILLION

A TAX on the super-rich could raise £24billion, enough to fill the black hole in the public finances, a report suggests.

Researchers say the very wealthiest often pay a lower rate of tax than ordinary workers.

The Chancellor Rachel Reeves is expected to unveil tax rises at the Budget in October after Labour said it found a £22billion hole in the public finances.

The Government has already scrapped winter fuel payments for about 10million pensioners.
