ARTIFICIAL sweeteners used in diet fizzy drinks are set to be declared a potential cancer risk to humans

Sweetener in Diet Coke is a 'cancer risk'

Aspartame found in Diet Coke, Coke Zero and Pepsi Max will be listed as "possibly carcinogenic to humans" in a World Health Organisation (WHO) reclassification.

The sugar replacement, which has been in food and drinks since the 80s, is also found in Fanta, Lucozade, Dr Pepper, Coke Zero and Pepsi Max.
