Teacher axe council in £200k chief hunt

A COUNCIL planning to axe 450 teachers has advertised for a new chief executive on more than £200,000 a year.

The Glasgow City Council post comes amid a flurry of budget cuts it announced in a bid to save £27.8million.

The local authority is seeking someone to fill the role of chief executive, a job that pays between £200,618 and £209,817 per year - or approximately £115 per hour.
