Teachers are ready to quit over attacks

MORE than eight in 10 schools in Scotland are reporting violent incidents towards staff every week, figures show.

Findings published by Scotland's largest teaching unions, the Educational Institute of Scotland (EIS), show 82.7 per cent of 875 schools are experiencing aggression in the classroom.

Physical violence towards a teacher was the most common type in primary and special education, while verbal abuse was the most common in secondary schools.
