TEACHERS' leaders have demanded "urgent action" from the Scottish Government to tackle classroom violence.

They have told Education Secretary Jenny Gilruth there is an "increasing health and safety risk" for school staff.

While Gilruth has already held a special summit on classroom violence, Andrea Bradley, the general secretary of the EIS teaching union, told her additional resources were needed to tackle the problem. The union leader said:

"Behaviour summits are well and good, the opportunities to talk are really important.
