STEVEN NAISMITH celebrated his one-year anniversary as Hearts boss this week and admits the main thing he’s learned is he ISN’T the best coach in the building.

A sticky start saw the rookie boss under pressure early doors. But since then, the Jambos have run away with third place ahead of today’s clash with Livingston and are in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Fans are more than happy with how Naisy is going about his business. But he’s first to admit he owes a lot to lieutenants such as Frankie McAvoy and Gordon Forrest.

Naismith said: “There are some better coaches here than me. Gordy and Frankie and their experience, I’ll let them lead it because they are better at delivering it than me.

“I understand it’s a team game. I understand how the picture in my head of how I ideally want it doesn’t mean I need to do everything. I’ve had managers that do both.

“I’m a hands-on person and I do get involved but there are times when you need to say, ‘Best person for the job, do it’.
