THE Scottish Police Federation has warned the force could become "a laughing stock" if proposed cuts to traffic policing go ahead.
The proposals suggest axing 42 traffic constables and basing two patrol cars in Glasgow to cover the whole of Scotland between 3am and 7am.
Vice chairman of the Scottish Police Federation Brian Jones said the plans were "irresponsible beyond belief".
