SCOTLAND recorded its warmest start to a Christmas Day on record yesterday thanks to subtropical air from Africa.
Meteorologists take their calculations between 9am on Christmas Eve and 9am on Christmas Day.
The old record of 11.2C (52F) came from Christmas Eve and Christmas morning in 2017 at the Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh.
