AN ISLAND described as "Scotland's version of the Caribbean" is on the lookout for a new doctor.The Isle of Coll is about to seek a GP after the retirement of their doctor of 23 years.Dr Celine O'Neill plans to retire on October 31.Dr O'Neill said: "As the singlehanded GP on the island for the past 23 years, it has been an immense privilege to have been able to know and provide medical care and support to the people of Coll, their families and visitors who have placed their trust in me over these years. Our community is recognised to be enormously resilient, resourceful, and generous and I am very happy to remain part of this community in a different capacity following retirement." Fiona Duff, Argyll and Bute Health and Partnership, interim primary care manager said: "The HSCP is committed to upholding the Social Care provision of excellent GP services for the local community."We are saddened to see Dr Celine O'Neill retire.
