PARTICK v QUEEN'S PARK

JACK McMILLAN risked a dressing-room caning to help his trusted canine pal swim – now says it’s time to show the punters Jags won’t sink.

Partick Thistle’s trip to Tynecastle in the Viaplay Cup ended up a dog’s dinner as they were sent back along the M8 with their tail between their legs.

McMillan and Co are back at Firhill for the first time in three weeks today looking to show leaders Queen’s Park who is top dog with a first league win.

The fan favourite warmed up by cooling down, training his 11- month-old golden retriever Shylo how to swim to the amusement of his Instagram followers.

But the full-back is serious about repaying the fans, who travelled in their number to Hearts last Sunday, with a performance reminiscent of last season’s sparkling run-in.

He said: “We do seem to play attractive football here, I don’t know if that’s with the fans or the whole stadium itself we do always seem to put on a performance.
