THE Bay City Rollers hope their global smash hit Shang-A-Lang will one day replace Flower of Scotland as the national anthem at sporting events.
The band, who re-released the 50-year-old classic pop track last week ahead of Scotland's Euro 2024 campaign in Germany, believe the upbeat song is perfect for spurring teams on to victory.
And it seems the nation's well-kent faces are just as keen, judging by their appearance in the video for the charity single.
Sir Rod Stewart, Susan Boyle, Gordon Strachan and Ross King are just a few of the famous fans who can be spotted waving their tartan scarves and "boppin' the night away" to the Rollers' tune.
The Shang-A-Lang 50 single, from which all proceeds will go to Cash for Kids, has also been given the thumbs up by the mums of Scotland stars Andy Robertston and John McGinn.
While there's no doubt the iconic track can rock any crowd, is there a chance it could replace Flower of Scotland before matches? Bay City Rollers stars Stuart "Woody" Wood and John McLaughlin think it could.
John, who joined the band last year after spending decades penning songs for pop acts including Westlife and Busted, said: "Shang-ALang has half a century of love behind it.
"It is absolutely joyous and the perfect song to spur Scotland on in the Euros - in fact it would make the perfect Scottish national anthem.
"Can you imagine the reaction if it was sung before at all national rugby and football matches? I bet there would be a lot more victories.
