OLYMPIC legend Sir Chris Hoy boosted the value of his business to almost £1.7million last year.

Figures show the cycling champion is continuing to profit from his success despite retiring from the sport 11 years ago.

The Edinburgh-born racer's finances have soared since he won three golds at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. He claimed six gold medals in total, including two at London 2012, before retiring in 2013.

Hoy, 48, discovered he had cancer last year and said it came as a "huge shock, having had no symptoms".
