SCOTCH whisky visitor centres have been named Scotland's top tourist attractions after more than two million people flocked to them last year.

WHISKY FANS THIRSTY FOR SCOTCH AFTER PANDEMIC

Figures from the Scotch Whisky Association (SWA) show that footfall at whisky tourism facilities more than doubled in 2022 as the industry recovered from the pandemic.

Whisky visitor centres clocked up 2,004,918 visits - more than the National Museum of Scotland, which had 1.97million visitors, and Edinburgh Castle, which had 1.34million.
