A FINAL Beatles song is to be released later this year after Sir Paul McCartney called in artificial intelligence to help put it together.
The 80-year-old music legend said technology was used to extract John Lennon's voice from an old demo and "get it pure".
He said that AI is an "interesting thing" and "something that we're&nbsp;all sort of tackling at the moment" and trying to deal with.
In Peter Jackson's documentary series Get Back, which saw The Beatles making the Let it Be album, the Fab Four's voices and instruments were stripped out, cleaned up and remixed.
Macca said Jackson "was able&nbsp;to extricate John's voice from a ropey bit of cassette and a piano.&nbsp;He could separate them with AI, tell the machine, 'That's a voice, this is a guitar, lose the guitar'.
"When we came to make what will be the last Beatles record, it was a demo that John had that we worked on and we just finished it up. It will be released this year. We&nbsp;were able to take John's voice and get it pure through AI so we could mix the record.
It is likely be a 1978 Lennon song called Now And Then which was considered as a possible reunion song for the Beatles in 1995 for the Anthology series but ditched when George Harrison objected to its poor sound quality.
