HUMZA Yousaf will today pledge to slash waiting times in the NHS by investing an extra £100million in it each year until 2026.

The First Minister will use his keynote speech on the closing day of the SNP conference in Aberdeen to claim the additional cash will reduce waiting lists by 100,000 patients over the next three years.

He is expected to say: "Post-pandemic, we are working hard to reduce NHS waiting times - and we have seen a significant reduction in the longest waits since targets were announced last July.

"I am announcing today that in each of the next three years we will invest an extra £100million to cut waiting lists.
