LEEDS UNITED 3
STRUIJK 10 (PEN), GNONTO 46, AARONSON 90
PORTSMOUTH 3
SORENSEN 23, LANG 41, 90 (PEN)
BRENDEN AARONSON was the villain then hero then villain again for Leeds as the American returned from exile to grab a late equaliser – only to miss a sitter to win it.
Aaronson was booed onto the pitch by a section of the home support having declared his wish to stay at loan club Union Berlin.
But they changed their tune when he steered his shot into the bottom corner after being set up by Joel Piroe five minutes into added time.
Two minutes lat er Aaronson, put clean through by Jayden Bogle, dragged a glorious opportunity wide and Portsmouth escaped with a precious point.
