A COUNTRYSIDE expert claims landowners are failing to tackle the danger posed by cows.
Steve Jenkinson said dog walkers are being given incomplete information that could lead to fatalities.
Thirty-two people were killed by cattle and&nbsp;hundreds hurt between 2017-2022.
Cows can feel threatened dogs and become by to aggressive defend calves.
Mr Jenkinson, of the Access and Countryside Management group, said: "Organisations like the National Trust and Dartmoor National Park Authority are still putting up signage to say, 'Always have your dog on a lead around cattle!
"But they're leaving off the life-saving message about 'release your dog if threatened."
The National Trust said it would add the advice to its website.
The Dartmoor National Park Authority said it tells people to normally keep dogs on leads, but to let go if chased by cattle.
