The AI images used engagement analytics on social media data, examining billions of photos of people.
But the pictures have been criticised after the artificial intelligence program chose a white woman and man, above and below.
In response, one Twitter user said: "Sooo it looks like even Al is racist." Another added: "Looks about white." The "ideal" images for men and women show a bias for olive skin tones, slender blonde females and muscular brown-haired men.
They have also been slammed by eating disorder charities for the "largely unrealistic" depictions of body types.
