But tech firm AND Digital, which made the finding, warned bosses must get used to the idea of integrating AI into companies if they want their businesses to survive a robot revolution.
AND's research showed 43% of CEOs said they felt that their job "could be at risk due to AI technology"
Its head of technology, Stephen Paterson, said: "CEOs cannot afford to be complacent when it comes to AI.
"Neither can they allow a culture of fear and distrust surrounding new technologies to gain a foothold.
"Failure to do so will leave them falling behind the competition who do possess the AI skills to lead the new wave of tech innovation."
