Burgess fears Giant consequences

ENGLAND prop Tom Burgess admits winless Huddersfield will be "screwed" if they do not sort themselves out soon.

Luke Robinson's side are still waiting to get off the mark after losing all six Super League games so far.

Sunday's 50-4 hammering by leaders Hull KR was their biggest defeat yet and they show no sign of getting off bottom.

Having also been dumped out of the Challenge Cup too, it's hardly the homecoming Burgess envisaged when ending his glittering 12-year career with NRL's South Sydney in the off-season.

The big 'marquee' signing hoped to help fire inconsistent Huddersfield towards silverware, but a horrendous injury list has savaged their start.

Asked if he is confident they can turn it around, Yorkshireman Burgess said: "Yes, you've got to be. What's the alternative? You can't give up, can you? If you give up, you're screwed.
