A MAN has been caught trying to smuggle more than 100 snakes by stuffing them down his trousers.The unnamed suspect was arrested after officers stopped him in the green "nothing to declare" channel at a border checkpoint.He was trying to travel from Hong Kong into Shenzhen, China, with 104 of the reptiles, right, including milk snakes and corn snakes.Customs officials said: "The pockets of the trousers the passenger was wearing were packed with six canvas drawstring bags and sealed with tape."Once opened, each bag was found to contain living snakes in all kinds of shapes, sizes and colours." China is one of the world's biggest animal trafficking hubs but authorities have been cracking down on the illicit trade.Its disease control laws ban the importation of any non-native species.
