THOUSANDS of travellers grounded by fierce storms are being denied compensation by easyJet.
The airline is using an "act of God" style excuse to avoid payments.
More than 15,000 passengers were hit by the cancellation of more than 100 flights from Gatwick on Sunday and yesterday.
But easyJet said the storms were part of an "extraordinary" circumstance. It means passengers are not entitled to compensation under consumer law as the cause of the disruption is outside the airline's control.
Sam Spencer, who was due to fly to Nice from Gatwick, raged: "The lady at the desk was polite but fairly unhelpful - the man on her radio literally told her, "Tell them all to s*d off!" Another traveller, Mark Whitaker, branded it a "basic s**t show".
EasyJet said: "We're doing all possible to minimise the impact on customers, providing those on cancelled flights with options to rebook or receive a refund and hotel accommodation and meals where required."&nbsp;
