மிஸோரம், சத்தீஸ்கரில் நாளை வாக்குப் பதிவு: பிரசாரம் நிறைவு

மிஸோரமின் 40 பேரவைத் தொகுதிகளுக்கும், சத்தீஸ்கரில் முதல்கட்டமாக 20 பேரவைத் தொகுதிகளுக்கும் செவ்வாய்க்கிழமை (நவ. 7) தோ்தல் நடைபெறவுள்ளது. இதற்கான பிரசாரம் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை மாலையுடன் நிறைவடைந்தது.

In the north-eastern state of Mizoram, voting is going on simultaneously for all 40 constituencies.

In this Christian-majority state, the ruling Mizo National Front, the opposition parties Zoram People's Movement, Congress and BJP are in a multi-faceted contest.

Ahead of the election, security has been strengthened at the Bangladesh and Myanmar borders bordering the state.

3,000 personnel of the police department and 5,400 personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces are engaged in security work.

510 km with Myanmar and 318 km with Bangladesh. Mizoram shares the border.

Mizo National Front won 28 constituencies in the last polls. Zoram People's Movement won 6, Congress 5 and BJP one.

Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Chavananda Sonowal, Kiran Rijiju and others campaigned on the BJP side. In support of the Congress, the party's M.P. Rahul Gandhi, senior leaders Jairam Ramesh, Sasi Tharoor and others collected votes.
