Capital hotter than Barcelona and Ibiza with temperatures climbing to 30C

TEMPERATURES in London were today predicted to hit 30C - with the capital expected to be hotter than Ibiza and Barcelona.
The Met Office said there would be constant sunshine in what was likely to be the hottest day of the year so far.
Temperatures were expected to climb to a maximum of 30C at around 5pm or 6pm in London, making the capital around 5C hotter than Ibiza and 4C warmer than Barcelona.
London was also on track to be warmer than many of Europe's other popular holiday destinations including Majorca's Palma and Marseille.
The Met Office said the highest temperature recorded yesterday was 28.3C at Wisley, Surrey, making it the hottest day of the year so far, with more likely heatwaves forecast this week.
