Jobyna Watts, a 92-year-old former “Windmill Girl”, inherited husband Eustace Watts’s estate when he died in 2008, sparking a feud with their son Carlton who had been left empty-handed.
Carlton, 64, reported his mother to police over claims she had swindled him out of his inheritance, and he mounted a High Court challenge over the validity of his father’s will — which he valued at £8 million.
But in a ruling following a trial, Master Julia Clark found Carlton’s evidence had been clouded by his “fixed belief” he had been conned by his mother, and she decided the will was validly signed in 2000 by his father.
Mrs Watts made her name as a dancer after the Second World War, becoming an established figure at the legendary Windmill Theatre in the West End.
