RESURGENT Rolls-Royce shares hit new heights in the FTSE 100 today after a leading City bank said the stunning run by the engines maker had further to go.

Rolls-Royce surges again as Goldman forecasts further progress

Shares peaked at 488p at one point, a rise of 3% as it emerged that Goldman Sachs had sweetened the target price on its Buy rating to 545p from 524p.

Rolls is now worth £40 billion, having added another 60% to its valuation this year on the back of turnaround progress under chief executive Tufan Erginbilgic. His most recent update in May showed further profit and cash flow improvement. The shares later settled 11.3p higher at 483.8p.
