Wael Sawan's base salary for the top job at the UK's biggest oil and gas firm was £1.4 million.
He also got an annual bonus of £2.7 million and his payout from the firm's "long-term incentive plan" reached £2.6 million. That took his total "variable remuneration" to £5.3 million.
