On January 10 I’ll be 17 years sober. One of my biggest gripes at the moment is celebrities pretending to be sober to sell brands. Whatever type of product it may be, it’s not the best look when you see them stumbling out of a club on page six the next day. Everybody’s jumping on the sobriety podcast bandwagon, with barely three months clean time under their belt. I’m first to be proud of those who are a day or 10 years into their journey but … if you spend one day in a garage, it doesn’t make you a mechanic. You know what I mean? Do the work on yourself first. None of this paints a good picture for people in recovery. If anything, it makes a mockery of it and I have too much respect for the people doing the work every single day.
