'There was no duty of care': now Paralympian hits out at Strictly bosses over serious injury

A PARALYMPIC gold medallist has accused Strictly Come Dancing bosses of a lack of duty of care after he was seriously injured while taking part in the show.

Table tennis player Will Bayley suffered a knee injury during rehearsals in 2019 when he jumped from a table. It was his second attempt at the move after his professional partner Janette Manrara said his first was “rubbish”.

He was left in “excruciating pain” which still affects him today and has caused a major impact on his sporting career. The 36-year-old, who was born with a debilitating limb condition, claims his fears about the jump were ignored.
