LABOUR would tackle the “blokey” culture at the top of government and in Britain’s highest institutions, the shadow chancellor vowed today.

Rachel Reeves said “barely a week goes by without a story of some of sort of abuse of power in Westminster”, where male MPs outnumber women MPs two to one. Ms Reeves began her career at the Bank of England, where the court of directors has 13 men and just three women. Britain’s Supreme Court has just one female Justice.

“I want it to change,” Ms Reeves told the Standard.
