Compared to the start of the financial year, natural rubber of the RSS 5 and RSS 4 varieties, typically used for tyremaking, saw a surge of 26-35% in prices in just 4-5 months this year.
From around ₹1.5 lakh per tonne in January 2024, the price of natural rubber jumped to around ₹2.40 lakh per tonne by September, a rise of 60%, data from the Rubber Board and CRISIL Research showed.
