● One of India's finest woman rally riders is targeting the world's toughest race
VIKRAM CHAUDHARY

"When the helmet is on, it's just a motorcycle and an athlete – it doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman riding, the motorcycle knows no gender, it only understands the rider's skill," says Aishwarya Pissay, 29, the TVS racer who has become Asia's first woman to clinch three world titles in two-wheeler racing, and is India's only three-time two-wheeler world champion.

But for Pissay, the 'world' is not enough, and that's why she is targeting the otherworldly Dakar Rally.

"I am preparing for Dakar 2026, and aiming to be Asia's first woman to win at the Dakar," she says.
