WITH THE FESTIVAL season around the corner and inventories rising to a five year high, automakers are doling out steep discounts to car buyers.
Attractive deals, ranging from ₹20,000 to 200,000, are on offer for the buyers. These include cash discounts, exchange, loyalty bonus and corporate discounts. In addition, dealers are also doing their bit by offering discounts on accessories.
While festive offers are valid till October 31, some have been going on for slow moving models, especially compact hatchback and sedans.
What is interesting is that discounts are being offered even in the sport utility vehicles (SUV) and CNG-powered models both perceived as high -demand segments. This could be an indicator of the sluggishness in the retail demand.
Bundled with dealer offers, market leader Maruti Suzuki is offering ₹61,000 discount on the Alto, Wagon R, Celerio and S Presso while the Swift is available with ₹54,000 worth of offers.
