He also said that Microsoft will help equip 2 million Indians with skills in artificial intelligence by 2025. Called ADVANTA(I)GE INDIA, the programme aims to accelerate the country's artificial intelligence transformation and empower its workforce for the jobs of the future.
"The AI engineering community in India is second only to the US," he said. Nadella has been at the helm of Microsoft for a decade now and seen the technology giant's stock price rise 1,000% as it beat Apple to become the most valuable company in the world.
On Wednesday, he said that one can only talk about technology as a real thing if it is going to have real impact on the overall growth of an economy.
"Definitely today this is the highest growth market. You can see the buoyancy of it. The government and all of you have high ambitions of what's going to happen by 2025 and what percentage of that growth is going to be driven by AI," the CEO said.
